There are two tickets types available.

A ticket to be a member of the audience and a ticket to be a very special part of our 'active' audience.

  1. Audience Members will participate through being a part of the event, its recording and the singing of songs on the day.  - LAST FEW AUDIENCE TICKETS AVAILABLE!
     
  2. Active audience members can learn a series of basic movements by following the online tutorial video and being part of the event finale. The video teaches a series of moves to be performed as Heather Small sings her version of "You've got the love'. The tutorial video is availalble online for you to watch and learn before arriving on the day ready to participate
    ACTIVE AUDIENCE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED! 
  3. Tickets can be reserved online and collected from the Guild Hall box office or printed at home. Please download this additional event information if you are reserving tickets.

What is Preston Passion?

The live BBC One programme for Good Friday 2012 will be a contemporary and dramatic re-telling of the Passion story and feature an exciting combination of live performance and innovative drama.

The programme is a modern day dramatic re-telling of the Passion story, featuring an exciting combination of live performance, music and innovative drama. The programme will be broadcast live on BBC One on 6th April from an outdoor location in the centre of Preston.

Locally recruited performers and singers will help create the live spectacle and three specially written filmed dramas - inspired by the real lives of Preston people through history and today - will depict the core themes of the Passion story.

Shopmobility are providing a transport service for disabled visitors to this event however if you intend to use either their dial-a-ride service or the shopmobility scooters please ensure you book your space. tel. 01772 204667 before 30 March.

I want to be a part of this - what do I need to do?

As a performer, you will be one of 1000+ individual volunteers performing movement which has been specially choreographed for this unique event. Commitment, enthusiasm and energy are more important than previous experience and skills.


‘If you would like to take part as a volunteer performer, we ask that you are able to attend a minimum of 1 rehearsal on Sunday 1st April from 12.30-6.00p.m. You will come to the Guild Hall in the first place, although most of this rehearsal will take place outdoors. You will be a Bronze performer and will be needed for a first dress rehearsal on Thursday 5th April from 17.00-19.45 p.m. and for a second dress rehearsal and the live broadcast itself on Friday 6th April from 9.00-13.15.

If you would like to play more of a role, we also need performers who are able to attend rehearsals from Sunday March 11th onwards (18th, 25th and 1st) from 12.30 -6.00 p.m. These rehearsals will start at the Guild Hall, but parts of rehearsals will take place outside. You will be a Silver Performer and you will be needed for a  longer time on the first dress rehearsal on the 5th April (tbc) and from 9.00-13.15 on Friday 6th April.’

Please note that any young person who wishes to perform and is aged 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult or be a member of a recognised performing group. We can accept children from 9 years upwards as Bronze performers if they are accompanied or supervised by adults.


We cannot accept any child under the age of 9 as a performer and we must have signed consent from a parent/legal guardian for all young people aged 16 or under.’

Places are limited so please do be sure to let us know as soon as possible if you would like to take part in this exciting project. While we can’t guarantee that you will get a place we will be able to let you know by February 10th if you have been successful
